Tresham Church Harvest Festival and Christmas Carol service

Dear Everyone,

Our Harvest festival will be held at Tresham Church on Sunday October 7th at 11 am. As ever, it gives us the chance to celebrate the hard work of everyone who works to provide us with food, and the fact that we do actually have enough food to take us through to the next growing season. Coping with the difficulties of this unusually hot and dry summer, at Tresham we have seen the activities of the three farms which surround us, and many of us are also still enjoying our own little harvests from our gardens at home. Children are very welcome! If you have fresh harvest food to decorate the church which you would like to bring to share with others (or take home again) then please do.

As ever, we ask for donations of food which are suitable for storage (e.g. tinned or dried) which will go to the Wotton Food Bank, and there will be the opportunity to make a cash contribution if you wish so that other needed items can be purchased there for people who find themselves in unexpected difficulties. This will be separate from the usual church collection, which goes towards paying our diocesan dues and the annual costs of the building.

The Christmas Carol Service will be held on Sunday December 16th at 11 am. As we all know, this is a tremendous occasion, thanks in particular to David Bradbury as well as all the musicians working with him. New attenders are very welcome, with children of all ages; it is always a highlight of the year, and there are refreshments afterwards to start the village Christmas season off with a sociably warm glow. We do hope you will join us.

With best wishes,
Sue Whitfield
