Village History

Posted on May 4th, by Editor in Community. 2 comments

I have been able to add to the website quite a lot of history about the village, entirely due to the memories and research of Michael Gardner, Jim McKenzie and Simon Lee.

So if you would like a little light relief during the ‘lockdown’, read about the community buildings which used to thrive here years ago and of the social gatherings like the Tresham Wasps and the Sunday School.

  1. I have enjoyed reading about Tresham’s history and the photos are very interesting How cold it must have been in winter without the luxuries we have in our homes nowadays

  2. Yes the inside of the bedroom Windows froze and looked very pretty, Mum would say “Jack Frost has been” Even the wee in our potty under the bed would freeze, (the loo was outside at the bottom of the garden. ) 1962 Dad tunnelled out of the front door as the snow had drifted up to the bedroom window sills!
